Internship at Åland Islands, Peace Institute, spring semester 2018

The Åland Islands Peace Institute offers an opportunity for one or two trainees to experience a dynamic and flexible internship during the spring semester of 2018.

We are looking for applicants interested in issues concerning peace, security, minorities and autonomy. The work assignments include arrangements of seminars, information dissemination and website development. Thus suitable fields of study background are i.a. social, legal or political sciences but also IT, communication and information management. We also appreciate a background or interest in infographics, conflict studies, and/or the law of the seas.

The working languages at the Institute are Swedish and English. Knowledge of Finnish and other languages are meritorious. To be eligible for an internship at the ÅIPI you should have completed at least one year of university studies. Priority will be given to applicants who not yet holds a Master’s degree.

The internship period can last from two to five months. The first internship period begins in mid-January or according to agreement.
Applicants are encouraged to apply for funding from external sources such as the university, foundations or other sponsoring programs.

Your internship application should include your CV and a short letter of motivation, stating why you are interested in an internship at the ÅIPI and what your skills and areas of interest are. Please also provide relevant information about your institution and/or sponsoring programme.

In case you are currently writing your Bachelors- or Master’s thesis, please let us know, as there may be a possibility to continue working on your thesis during the internship.
