KGAA Bernadotteprogrammet

Inom ramen för Bernadotteprogrammet utlyser Kungl. Gustav Adolfs Akademien för svensk folkkultur maximalt två vistelsestipendier för postdoktorala forskare inom det verksamhetsområde som Akademien företräder, varvid begreppet svensk folkkultur ska fattas i vid mening. Stipendiesumman är 125 000 kronor för varje mottagare. Härtill tillkommer bidrag till resor, konferenser eller fältarbeten på 25 000 kronor. Med programmet vill Akademien etablera en långsiktig relation med stipendiaterna, som bl.a. kommer att ges möjlighet att söka ytterligare medel, t.ex. för anordnande av symposium. Utlysningen riktar sig till: 1) Post doc-forskare utanför Sverige som vill tillbringa minst fyra till sex månader vid ett svenskt lärosäte eller ett forskningsinriktat arkiv/museum/bibliotek, och 2) Post doc-forskare i Sverige som vill tillbringa fyra till sex månader vid ett utländskt lärosäte eller ett forskningsinriktat arkiv/museum/bibliotek. Within the framework of the Bernadotte Programme, the Royal Gustavus Adolphus Academy for Swedish Folk Culture invites applications for a maximum of two scholarships. These are intended for postdoctoral researchers working within the fields the Academy represents; Swedish folk culture in this context is to be taken in a broad sense. Each award is for SEK 125,000. In addition, there is a grant for travel, conferences, or fieldwork of SEK 25,000. The Academy aims to establish a long-term relationship with the scholarship holders, who will, among other things, be given the opportunity to apply for additional funding, for instance, to organize symposiums. The call is aimed at: 1. Postdoctoral researchers from outside Sweden who wish to spend a minimum of four to six months at a Swedish university or a research-oriented archive, museum or library in Sweden, and 2) Postdoctoral researchers from Sweden who wish to spend a minimum of four to six months at a foreign university or research-oriented archive, museum or library. Applications are to be sent by email and must arrive no later than December 1, 2023.

The Finnish Cultural Foundation: October Grants

The Finnish Cultural Foundation awards grants for scientific and artistic work as well as for projects and acquisitions from the October round of applications.

The application period is 10.10-31.10 2023. Grant applications close at 4 pm Finnish time (EET) on the last day of the application period. The grant decisions are announced by email about a week before the end of the January round of applications in the first week of February.

Grant-funded work may begin no sooner than February. An expenditure grant may only be used for expenses dated from February onwards.

Eligible applicants include all Finnish nationals and people and organisations residing or working in Finland. Others are eligible as well, provided their application demonstrates clear, strong ties to Finland or Finnish culture.

Rettigs forskningsstipendium

Kungliga Vitterhetsakademien utlyser fyra stipendier för att stödja forskare inom humaniora och samhällsvetenskap. Målet med utlysningen är att underlätta bruk av samlingarna vid arkivet och biblioteket.

Rettigs forskningsstipendier riktar sig till projekt som har nytta av de fysiska samlingarna vid Riksantikvarieämbetets arkiv och Vitterhetsakademiens bibliotek.

Forskningsstipendiet består av en engångssumma om 100 000 kronor och kan sökas av juniora forskare (på doktorand- och postdoktorinivå) inom arkeologi, historia, konsthistoria, arkitektur, idéhistoria, bokhistoria, kulturarvsstudier, numismatik och besläktade ämnen. Den sökande måste ha en anknytning till en nordisk forskningsinstitution.

Ansökningar tas emot mellan 1 september och 15 oktober 2023.

The Rettig Research Fellowship

The Royal Swedish Academy of History, Letters and Antiquities is pleased to offer Short-Term Research Fellowships to support scholars in arts, humanities, and social sciences. The fellowship is intended to support projects that will benefit from research conducted primarily on-site at the archive and library of the Swedish National Heritage Board, drawing from the institutions’ collections.

The stipend consists of a one-time amount of SEK 100,000 and can be awarded to junior scholars (PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers) pursuing research relating to archaeology, history, arts, architecture, history of ideas, book history, cultural heritage studies, numismatics, or adjacent fields. An affiliation to a research institution in the Nordic countries is required.

Applications may be submitted between 1 September 2023 and 15 October 2023.

Nessling Foundation’s general call

In the general grant call, we are looking for innovative projects and active researchers that enable or support sustainability transformations that protect natural systems.

We provide funding for projects that contribute to the Nessling Foundation’s mission to seek systemic solutions for an ecologically sustainable future.

In the general grant call, we award funding for three purposes. You can apply for:

  • personal grants for doctoral thesis researchers (for a maximum of 4 years)
  • personal grants for post-doc researchers (for a maximum of 2 years)
  • grants for implementation projects where research is put into practical use through cooperation between the producers and users of knowledge.

Kone Foundation Grants Annual Call 2023

Kone Foundation funds academic research in humanities, social sciences, and environmental sciences, artistic research, and professional artistic work. Additionally, we fund cross-disciplinary and multidisciplinary work between the fields and disciplines supported by the Foundation. The goal of Kone Foundation’s grant activities is to create the conditions for free and multi-voiced art and research. To receive funding, projects must have a connection to Finland.

The next annual call will be held 1–15 September, 2023.
