InfraVis Call To Apply For In-Depth Visualization Support For Research Projects 2024

Swedish scientists at universities and research institutes can now apply for visualization support to strengthen their research project.

You can apply for up to 600 hours of visualization support and receive help from InfraVis with, for example, data curation, visualized material for user studies, visual analyses of experimental data, interaction techniques, and videos and figures for research publications.

Call for manuscripts Ethnologia Scandinavica

To the 2025 edition of the journal Ethnologia Scandinavica we now welcome article proposals.
The editors receive proposals in abstract format until the 7th of June. Provided that the proposals are accepted, we look forward to a complete script 1st of November when a review process starts.
Ethnologia Scandinavica is ranked level 2 on the so-called Norwegian list, as well as the Finnish scientific community’s counterpart. ES is also approved for the European reference index for the humanities and social sciences (ERIH PLUS).

Redaktionen tar till och med 7e juni emot förslag i abstract-format. Under förutsättning att förslagen accepteras ser vi fram emot ett komplett manus 1 november då en granskningsprocess tar vid.
Ethnologia Scandinavica är rankad på nivå 2 på den s.k. norska listan, liksom på det finska vetenskapliga samfundets motsvarighet. ES är också godkänd för European reference index for the humanities and social sciences (ERIH PLUS).

Call for proposals: Knowledge sharing and capacity building networks to strengthen Indigenous perspectives in research

NordForsk announces funding for two to four Nordic knowledge-sharing and capacity-building networks for researchers working with research relevant to Indigenous peoples and/or Indigenous research.

Applicants are invited to submit proposals for networking projects within the scope of the call. The amount of funding available to Nordic partners in a network is up to NOK 1 million. Funded networks shall have a duration of two years.

Call deadline is 24 September 2024.

The overall aim for the call is to in the long term contribute to sustainable and ethically sound development of communities and areas where Indigenous peoples have interests, and thus contribute to maintaining trust and unity in the Nordic region.

Associate Professor in Cultural Studies at the University of Bergen

The Department of Archaeology, History, Cultural Studies and Religion at the University of Bergen invites applications for a permanent position as Associate Professor in Cultural Studies. The starting date for the position is the 1st of November 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The Bergen version of Cultural Studies focuses on everyday culture in past and present. The discipline is embedded in the academic traditions of Ethnology and Folkloristics, which have a particular focus on Nordic cultures. Research is carried out in combination with teaching on bachelor, master and PhD-level. Currently there are 6 permanent positions in Cultural Studies.
