ICH North project will hold a webinar on ”Community Involvement in Documentation work” on 14 November at 14:00 Paris time (UTC +1) / 15:00 Finnish time (UTC+2).
In the webinar we will share good examples of different types of archive/museum collections where communities have been involved in the process – in particular in thinking about what should be collected or documented in relation to their community and the ICH (intangible cultural heritage) with which they identify.
All the examples have the same aim: the UNESCO 2003 Convention requires state parties to ensure the widest possible participation of communities, groups and individuals in safeguarding activities, and the webinar aims to find ways of shifting decision-making power in documentation work to communities and sharing it with other stakeholders.
The webinar is free and open for everyone
