True Crime Talks: Professor Peter van Koppen

LEPÅ is introducing a lecture series on the importance of psychological expertise in court cases. The first lecture will be given by Professor Peter van Koppen from Maastricht University in Aud. Armfelt, Arken on January 21th at 10AM. The lecture is open for everyone interested.

Eyewitnesses are more often mistaken than correct – legal certainty is improved upon at Heureka

Identifying an unknown individual is surprisingly difficult. Legal psychology researchers at Åbo Akademi University investigated eyewitness identifications in collaboration with science center Heureka at the end of 2018. Three representatives of the Finnish judicial system, Detective Chief Inspector Thomas Elfgren, District Court judge Nina Immonen and District prosecutor Johanna Hakanen, visited the science center to participate in the experiment.
