LEPÅ – Legal Psychology at Åbo Akademi University

LEPÅ is an expert network within the field of legal psychology. LEPÅ was founded in 2013 at Åbo Akademi University in Turku, Finland. The group conducts theoretically driven empirical research applicable to the legal system. LEPÅ also has a broad network of contacts including practitioners and other researchers in Finland as well as international scientific networks.

LEPÅs research interest covers areas of eyewitness memory and testimony, investigative interviewing, decision-making within the legal arena, etiology of child sexual abuse, psychological profiling and using Bayesian statistics to improve the accuracy of child sexual abuse allegations.
