Welcome to an interdisciplinary summer school for doctoral students in theology, the study of religion, the history of religion, and related fields to be held 14–15 June 2027 in Turku/Åbo.

The summer school is an independent event held in connection with the ESSWE conference, which will take place in Turku in June 2027. The summer school will be held in Turku on 14–15 June 2027, immediately prior to the conference. Participants are welcome to attend both the summer school and the conference, but it is also possible to attend only the summer school.
The aim of the summer school is to bring together doctoral students working in theology, the study of religions, history, philosophy, the arts, and the social and political sciences, as well as other fields relating to religion. Participants will have the opportunity to present and discuss their ongoing doctoral research in a cross-disciplinary, international environment.
The program will consist of working groups led by senior scholars and academic teachers, as well as workshops focusing on creative academic writing and other topics relevant to participants.
