Mark Hayton, the Head of Culture and Leadership at Nokia, shared his insights on the Finnish workplace, leadership, HR, and talent acquisition, during an interactive Q&A.

Intercultural Communication for Cross-cultural Team Building (March 3, 10, and 17, 2023)
Speaker: Michael Berry
The workshop equipped participants with theoretical knowledge and included practical exercises to improve competencies and communication skills in intercultural settings and particularly in Finnish working environment.

Networking Workshop (November 10, 2023)
Speakers: Timo Lampikoski and Rasmus Basilier
The workshop was divided in two parts: the first one about online networking, specifically on LinkedIn, and the second one about in-person networking, with practical exercises.

Finding Joy and Confidence in Writing (November 3-4, 2022)
Speaker: Dr. Carol Kiriakos
The two-days workshop included topics such as approaching any type of writing as a process, creating a writing habit, time management, and procrastination.

Communication and Presentation Skills (November 18, 2022)
Speaker: Pekka Kanerva
The workshop was focused on public speaking, pitching skills and using simple speech structures, and job interview skills.

The “Talent Boostcamp” was held in Nauvo from Sunday, May 29^th to Friday, June 3^rd, 2022. It was particularly designed and built for international students enrolled in the master’s degree programmes in International Law and Human Rights (ILHR) and Governance of Digitalisation (GoD) at Faculty of Social Sciences, Business and Economics (FSE).

The event took place at the Gammelgård Pizza & Padel Resort (Norrstrandtintie 217, 21660, Nauvo), “https://gammelgard.fi/en/home-2/”.

The trip was packed with activities to help students advance their careers in Finland, among which:

• Workshop for business plan and research paper writing
• Workshop on how public sector entities and governments use big data
• Presentation from Ministry of Economic Affairs & Employment representative
• Presentation from Ministry of Education & Culture representative
• Two-days training and workshops on soft skills and interpersonal communication skills
• Presentation from a recruiting company (Barona)
• Presentation from Turku City and Turku Business Region

This seminar was held at Åbo Akademi University on December 15th, 2021, and it was an open dialogue with recruiters, potential employers, and successful alumni from the FSE faculty. It was an opportunity for students to network with working life representatives.
