Talent Boost Voucher for International Students

Information to the student:
The Faculty of Social Sciences, Business and Economics and Law offers the possibility for international students to get funding for an internship at a company (or other nonuniversity organization) in Finland. The aim is to give you the possibility to get work experience and create professional networks in Finland, which is the one of the main goals of the Talent Boost Program. An internship will help you to put everything you learn within your studies into practice in working life. During your internship period,
you will gain an insight into work tasks, employment situations and recruitment practices in your field.

Criteria for taking part in the internship

  • The internship position is study-related and in Finland. The employer cannot be a university. The internship leads to 3-5 ECTS credits, should be registered in the study registration tool, Peppi. A maximum of 2 internship periods can be offered.
  • Non-Finnish citizen registered as students (bachelor’s or master’s level) at Åbo Akademi University, Faculty of Social Sciences, Business and Economics and Law (FSEJ) are eligible.

Information about the scholarship

  • The Scholarship is 1000 €/month (max 3 months fulltime). Possibility of doing a part-time internship can be discussed with the contact person of the master program.
  • The scholarship is paid directly to the student. Employers are not obligated to participate in internship costs.
  • An internship agreement is made between the Employer, Student, and the Head of the Master program.
  • Internship should be a part of your studies, confirmed by the head of the Master Program

  • Note that there is a difference between the ÅAU partly funded internship program and this Talent Boost program at FSEJ (within the ÅAU partly funded internship program).
  • Internships are paid once a month, either15. or 30/31 day.
  • You are expected to contact the companies yourself, but you should also contact the head of your master’s program, who may also be able to help you with company contacts. The Career Services at ÅAU and the project coordinator of Talent Boost at FSEJ also helps you with application documents and strategies in finding position.
  • The number of scholarships offered are limited, and they are awarded on a firstcome first-serve basis.
