The Department of Comparative Religion at Åbo Akademi University conducts research with an emphasis on contemporary religious change. Its current project YARG (Young Adults and Religion in a Global Perspective) is one of the Åbo Akademi University Centres of Excellence in Research 2015-2018.
The Migration Institute of Finland conducts research in migration and ethnic questions, and seeks to improve the conditions for research on migration and to develop co-operation among the organizations and individual researchers involved.
The Donner Institute for Research in Religious and Cultural History is a private research institute attached to the Foundation for Åbo Akademi University. The aim of the Institute is to promote research in religious and cultural history.
