Anne Karhio

Anne Karhio is a graduate of the University of Helsinki and the National University of Ireland, Galway. She is currently an Irish Research Council Laureate Project Scholar at the Moore Institute for Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences in the project Republic of Conscience: Human Rights and Modern Irish Poetry. She has published widely on contemporary Irish poetry, literary landscapes, and digital aesthetics, and is the author of ‘Slight Return’: Paul Muldoon’s Poetics of Place (Peter Lang, 2017) and co-editor of Crisis and Contemporary Poetry (Palgrave MacMillan, 2011).

Anne will present in Session 7: Perspectives on 21st Century Poetry. She will also chair Panel 1: Irish Literature and Culture in the 19th Century and Panel 4: The Troubles and Beyond.
