I b\u00f6rjan av n\u00e4sta vecka, m\u00e5ndagen 12.2, lanseras \u00c5bo Akademis nya webb<\/strong>. Fr\u00e5n och med ungef\u00e4r klockan 17 kommer \u00c5A:s webb att se helt annorlunda ut och till en del ocks\u00e5 ha helt annat inneh\u00e5ll.<\/p>\n

Hur p\u00e5verkar detta mig, vad b\u00f6r jag g\u00f6ra?<\/h3>\n

I det stora hela p\u00e5verkar webbreformen inte dig v\u00e4rst mycket och du beh\u00f6ver inte g\u00f6ra annat \u00e4n att njuta av den nya webben och vara stolt \u00f6ver att ditt universitet har Finlands absolut modernaste och dj\u00e4rvaste webb!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Varf\u00f6r har detta gjorts<\/h3>\n

V\u00e5r gamla webb har en hel del b\u00e5de tekniska och inneh\u00e5llsm\u00e4ssiga problem. Av de tekniska \u00e4r det mest i \u00f6gonen fallande det faktum att webbsidorna inte optimerats f\u00f6r bruk p\u00e5 mobiltelefoner. Den nya webben fungerar utm\u00e4rkt s\u00e5v\u00e4l p\u00e5 en smarttelefon, en padda som en dator.<\/p>\n

Inneh\u00e5llsm\u00e4ssigt \u00e4r den gamla webbens stora problem att den inneh\u00e5ller huller om buller s\u00e5v\u00e4l material riktat \u00e5t oss som redan \u00e4r vid akademin som externa webbsurfare. Det andra stora inneh\u00e5llsproblemet \u00e4r att det \u00e4r sv\u00e5rt att hitta det man s\u00f6ker.<\/p>\n

Problemet med att hitta det man s\u00f6ker efter har l\u00f6sts med den nya s\u00f6kmotorn som fungerar lite som Google. Den b\u00f6rjar s\u00f6ka genast d\u00e5 du skrivit in de tre f\u00f6rsta bokst\u00e4verna av ditt s\u00f6kord och den visar ocks\u00e5 s\u00f6kresultaten kategoriserade. S\u00f6ktr\u00e4ffar bland utbildningslinjer, \u00e4mnen, webbsidor, anst\u00e4llda o.s.v. visas alla som sina egna helheter.<\/p>\n

Problemet med det brokiga inneh\u00e5llet p\u00e5 gamla webben har l\u00f6sts genom strikt m\u00e5lgruppst\u00e4nk. Den nya webben \u00e4r externt riktad och finns huvudsakligen till f\u00f6r att locka nya studerande och forskare till \u00c5bo Akademi samt f\u00f6r att erbjuda information om akademin f\u00f6r alla intresserade. Det h\u00e4r betyder att den nya \u00c5A-webben inte inneh\u00e5ller och kommer inte heller att inneh\u00e5lla material som riktar sig enbart till oss som redan jobbar, studerar och forskar h\u00e4r. V\u00e5rt material kommer i sinom tid att f\u00f6ras \u00f6ver till ett nytt intran\u00e4t. Under \u00f6verg\u00e5ngsperioden kommer det interna materialet att finnas kvar p\u00e5 v\u00e5r gamla webb, som samtidigt allts\u00e5 fungerar som ett tempor\u00e4rt intran\u00e4t och ligger bakom inloggning.<\/p>\n

Var finns allt gammalt material?<\/h3>\n

Allt material som finns p\u00e5 den gamla webben kommer att finnas kvar d\u00e4r, men bakom inloggning.<\/p>\n

En l\u00e4nk till den gamla webben hittas i den nya webbens meny under rubriken Intran\u00e4tet<\/em>. Utseendet p\u00e5 den gamla webbens startsida kommer att \u00e4ndras en del f\u00f6r att klarare reflektera att du nu \u00e4r p\u00e5 akademins tillf\u00e4lliga intran\u00e4t.<\/p>\n

I n\u00e5got skede kommer den gamla webben att ers\u00e4ttas av ett nytt intran\u00e4t och efter det kommer den gamla webben att slutligen raderas.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Vad h\u00e4nder med alla gamla l\u00e4nkar?<\/h3>\n

Alla relevanta s.k. marknadsf\u00f6ringsadresser (t.ex. www.abo.fi\/sea<\/a>) forts\u00e4tter fungera, men de kommer naturligtvis att leda till motsvarande sida i den nya webben. Du beh\u00f6ver inte g\u00f6ra n\u00e5got f\u00f6r att dessa skall fungera.<\/p>\n

R\u00e5kar du ha ett bokm\u00e4rke till en viss sida, eller om det finns en l\u00e4nk n\u00e5gonstans ute i v\u00e4rlden till n\u00e5gon specifik undersida p\u00e5 gamla webben kommer den l\u00e4nken att forts\u00e4tta fungera, men anv\u00e4ndarnamn och l\u00f6senord kommer att kr\u00e4vas innan man kan se sidan. F\u00f6r den som har loggat in p\u00e5 den gamla webben fungerar allt d\u00e4r p\u00e5 vanligt s\u00e4tt.<\/p>\n

Hur forts\u00e4tter arbetet<\/h3>\n

Arbetet med den nya webben tar naturligtvis inte slut i och med lanseringen 12.2. Det kommer s\u00e4kert upp saker som m\u00e5ste \u00e4ndras, funktioner som m\u00e5ste filas och naturligtvis ocks\u00e5 \u00f6nskem\u00e5l om nya funktioner.<\/p>\n

P\u00e5 motsvarande s\u00e4tt forts\u00e4tter arbetet med den gamla webben. Material som finns p\u00e5 den nya webben kommer att plockas bort fr\u00e5n den gamla webben. De som haft tillg\u00e5ng till Sitebuilder har det fortfarande och kan den v\u00e4gen komma \u00e5t \u00e4ven dessa bortplockade filer. S\u00e5 sm\u00e5ningom hoppas vi dock kunna helt radera gammalt material.<\/p>\n

D\u00e5 det g\u00e4ller fr\u00e5gor och problem med webben skall du i forts\u00e4ttningen i f\u00f6rsta hand kontakta webbredakt\u00f6ren p\u00e5 din fakultet\/enhet,<\/strong> hen f\u00f6r sedan fr\u00e5gan vidare ifall hen inte sj\u00e4lv kan l\u00f6sa saken. Samma g\u00e4ller \u00f6nskem\u00e5l om ny funktionalitet.<\/p>\n

Next week, on Monday, 12 February, the new website of \u00c5bo Akademi University will be launched<\/strong>. From around 5 p.m. on Monday, the \u00c5AU website will have a completely new look and, in part, new contents as well.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How Does This Affect Me? What Should I Do?<\/h3>\n

The website reform should not have any particular effect on your everyday life. All you need to do is to enjoy the new \u00c5AU site and be proud of the fact that your university has the absolutely most advanced and boldest website in Finland!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why Is This Being Done?<\/h3>\n

The old website had its problems, both technically speaking and in terms of its contents. On the technical side, the most obvious problem was the lack of optimisation for mobile devices. The new website will function excellently regardless of whether you use it via a smart phone, tablet or PC.<\/p>\n

Content-wise, one big problem with the old website was that it had, all in a jumble, both such materials that were intended for people within \u00c5AU and contents primarily intended for external web surfers. The second major problem was that people had difficulties finding what they were looking for.<\/p>\n

This problem has now been resolved by means of the new search engine which works a bit like Google as it starts searching as soon as you have entered the first three letters in the search field. The new search engine displays the search results by categories. Hits will be arranged and shown by study programmes, subjects, website, personnel etc.<\/p>\n

The old website\u2019s problem concerning its mixed and varied contents has been solved by focusing more closely on the target audiences. The new website is more externally oriented, and its main purpose is to attract new students and researchers to \u00c5AU, while also providing information about A\u00c5U to anyone interested. This means that the new website does not and will not contain material that is only intended for those who already work, study or research at \u00c5AU. Such material will, in time, be transferred to our new intranet.<\/p>\n

During the transition period, the internal material will remain available in the old website, which will also serve as a temporary intranet, and as such, will require visitors to log in.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Where Will I Find All The Old Materials?<\/h3>\n

All material in the old website will continue to be available. However, to access the material, you have to log in.<\/p>\n

In the new website\u2019s menu, there will be a link under the heading Intranet, which will take you to the old website. The appearance of the old website\u2019s home page will be slightly revised in order to make it clear that you\u2019re in the temporary intranet of \u00c5AU.<\/p>\n

At some point in the future, the old website will be replaced by the new intranet and will, consequently, be completely shut down.<\/p>\n

What Will Happen To The Old Links?<\/h3>\n

All those addresses that are relevant for marketing purposes (for example, www.abo.fi\/sea<\/a>) will continue to work, but they will naturally lead to the corresponding page in the new website. You don\u2019t need to do anything to ensure their continued functioning.<\/p>\n

If you have bookmarked a particular web page, or if there is a link somewhere out there to a particular page in the old website, such links will continue to function, but a username and password will be required for a person to view the page. For those who are logged in to the old website, everything in the site will work as usual.<\/p>\n

How Will The Website Project Continue?<\/h3>\n

Work on the new website will not end with the launch on 12 February. There will certainly be aspects that call for amendment, functions that require polishing, not to mention requests for new functionalities.<\/p>\n

Correspondingly, work on the old website will also continue. Materials included in the new website will be removed from the old website. Anyone with access rights to SiteBuilder will continue to have those rights, and will, thereby, be able to access even the removed files. Gradually, however, we hope to be able to remove all of the old materials.<\/p>\n

If you have any questions or problems related to the website, you should primarily contact the web editor for your own faculty or unit.<\/strong> If unable to solve the problem, they will forward the matter to the relevant experts. The same procedure applies to any requests for new online functionalities.<\/p>\n
