The Institute has 23 staff members and affiliated researchers and is located within the cluster of legal subjects. Its mission is to conduct academic human rights research of high societal relevance and to offer research-based education in cooperation with national and international partners. The Institute offers a two-year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abo.fi\/en\/study-programme\/the-masters-degree-programme-in-international-law-and-human-rights\/\">Master\u2019s Degree Programme in International Human Rights Law<\/a> as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abo.fi\/en\/institute-for-human-rights\/intensive-courses-on-human-rights\/\">short courses for human rights professionals<\/a>. In addition, the Institute coordinates since 2014 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abo.fi\/en\/research-at-aau\/postgraduate-and-doctoral-studies\/graduate-school\/doctoral-networks-at-abo-akademi-university\/realizing-human-rights\/\">Doctoral Network on Realizing Human Rights<\/a>. Previously, it has coordinated the Finnish Graduate School in Human Rights Research (2002-2013) and the Nordic School in Human Rights Research (2004-2011).
