The general theme of the conference is \u201cLanguage, Cognition, and Society\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n We invite presentations (theme session, oral presentation and posters) on the following topics (the list is not exhaustive):<\/p>\n * Language and culture<\/p>\n * Discourse and cognition<\/p>\n * Perception, cognition and language<\/p>\n * Language acquisition and cognition<\/p>\n * Language and cognitive development and evolution<\/p>\n * Language and consciousness<\/p>\n * Language and gesture<\/p>\n * Language change and cognition<\/p>\n * Linguistic typology and cognition<\/p>\n * Multicultural communication and cognition<\/p>\n * Neuro- and psycholinguistic approaches to language and cognition<\/p>\n * Translation and cognition<\/p>\n * Cognitive impairment and language use<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The conference will be held as a hybrid event, with the possibility to attend both in Turku and online.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Submission formats<\/strong><\/p>\n Submissions should include:<\/p>\n – Session title, name and affiliation of session convener, and an introduction of up to 400 words introducing the theme.<\/p>\n – All abstracts (max 400 words\/absract) to be included in the theme session. Papers should be thematically linked. The time allocation per paper is 20 minutes followed by 5 minutes for discussion. The session can be concluded with a general discussion.<\/p>\n – Theme session conveners should indicate whether they wish abstracts to be considered as individual presentations (oral or poster), in case the session is not accepted as a whole.<\/p>\n Theme session proposal\u00a0 extended deadline: 16 March 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n Notification of acceptance of theme sessions: 30 March 2022<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Submissions should include:<\/p>\n – Title, name, affiliation, 400-word abstract (excluding references).
