N\u00e4r hon var sjutton \u00e5r beslutade hon sig f\u00f6r att fly till Kina. Lee kunde inte \u00e5terv\u00e4nda hem eftersom hon och hennes familj riskerade f\u00e5ngenskap mm. Hon l\u00e4rde sig snabbt kinesiska och anpassade sig f\u00f6r att \u00f6verleva.
