Samtiden pr\u00e4glas ocks\u00e5 av ett \u00f6kat fokus p\u00e5 barns kroppsliga integritet, parallellt med en uppfattning bland pedagoger om att fysisk n\u00e4rhet \u00e4r en sj\u00e4lvklar del av omsorgsrelationen. Dessa komplexa situationer g\u00f6r att skolpersonal ofta st\u00e4lls inf\u00f6r dilemman r\u00f6rande vilket som \u00e4r det mest goda och r\u00e4tta s\u00e4ttet att agera.<\/p>\n<p>Kroppar i samspel unders\u00f6ker pedagogers kroppsliga interaktion med barn p\u00e5 fritidshem och hur de navigerar mellan normer, ideal och k\u00e4nslom\u00e4ssiga dimensioner i dessa omsorgsm\u00f6ten. Avhandlingen belyser fr\u00e5gor om fysisk n\u00e4rhet, v\u00e5ldsamma handlingar, ordningsskapande och hur organisatoriska villkor formar det kroppsliga samspelet. Studien bygger p\u00e5 ett etnografiskt f\u00e4ltarbete p\u00e5 tv\u00e5 stora fritidshemsavdelningar i Stockholm som omfattade observationer samt intervjuer med pedagoger.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/sh.diva-portal.org\/smash\/record.jsf?pid=diva2%3A2052531&amp;dswid=-6862\">Avhandlingen finns i diva-portal<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong><span style=\"font-family: Bitter, Georgia, serif;font-size: 18px\">Abstract [sv]<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Avhandlingens syfte \u00e4r att analysera vilken betydelse normer, ideal och organisatoriska f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningar har f\u00f6r pedagogers kroppsliga interaktion med barn i fritidshem. Avhandlingen syftar \u00e4ven till att synligg\u00f6ra hur normer och omsorgsideal skapas, f\u00f6rhandlas och utmanas i denna interaktion. Det empiriska materialet best\u00e5r av observationer av pedagoger och barn tillsammans p\u00e5 fritidshem och intervjuer med dessa pedagoger. Materialet analyseras utifr\u00e5n kroppsfenomenologiska och k\u00e4nsloteoretiska perspektiv, samt teoretiska perspektiv p\u00e5 barn och \u00e5lder.<\/p>\n<p>Avhandlingens resultat visar hur r\u00e5dande omsorgsideal i den kroppsliga interaktionen innefattar att vara tillg\u00e4nglig f\u00f6r barns behov av n\u00e4rhet, att rikta fokus mot barns behov n\u00e4r de utf\u00f6r v\u00e5ldsamma handlingar, samt att agera mjukt och maktutj\u00e4mnande i ordningsskapande situationer. Analyserna visar hur dessa omsorgsideal uttrycks genom k\u00e4nslorelaterade normer, s\u00e5som att vara lugn, neutral, fysisk och varm gentemot alla barn. Dessa omsorgsideal skapade dilemman f\u00f6r pedagoger, till exempel n\u00e4r de upplevde att de beh\u00f6vde neka barn n\u00e4rhet, anv\u00e4nda fysiskt tv\u00e5ng, eller k\u00e4nde k\u00e4nslor som l\u00e5g utanf\u00f6r etablerade k\u00e4nslonormer. Organisatoriska f\u00f6ruts\u00e4ttningar, framf\u00f6r allt stora barngrupper och otillr\u00e4ckliga st\u00f6dinsatser f\u00f6r barn i behov av st\u00f6d, p\u00e5verkade i vilken utstr\u00e4ckning pedagoger hade m\u00f6jlighet att agera p\u00e5 s\u00e4tt som de uppfattade som ideala i arbetet. Avhandlingen visar vidare hur normer relaterade till sociala kategoriseringar pr\u00e4glar antaganden om hur olika barn och pedagoger kroppsligen kan interagera med varandra. I synnerhet ifr\u00e5gas\u00e4tts pojkar och manliga pedagoger n\u00e4r det g\u00e4ller tillgiven n\u00e4rhet.<\/p>\n<h5>Abstract [en]<\/h5>\n<p>This doctoral thesis aims to analyse the significance of norms, ideals, and organizational conditions for educators&#8217; bodily interaction with children in school-age educare centres. The thesis also aims to highlight how norms and ideals of care are created, negotiated, and challenged in this interaction. The empirical material consists of observations of the interactions between educators and children at school-age educare centres, as well as interviews with the educators. The material is analysed from body phenomenology and emotion theory, with additional perspectives drawn from theoretical work on age and childhood.<\/p>\n<p>The analysis of the collected material demonstrates that the prevailing ideals of care expressed in bodily interactions between educators and children include being available to meet children&#8217;s need for physical closeness, focusing on children&#8217;s needs when they perform violent acts, and establishing order in a gentle and equalizing manner. The analysis also shows that ideals of care are expressed through emotion-related norms, such as being calm, neutral, physical, and welcoming to every child. These ideals, however, create dilemmas for the educators, especially when they feel the need to deny children physical closeness, use physical coercion or experience emotions outside of the expected norms. Organizational conditions withing the centres, especially the incidence of large groups of children and insufficient support for children with additional needs, affected the extent to which educators could act in ways they perceived as ideal in their work. The thesis further shows how norms related to social categorizations can influence assumptions about bodily interactions between children and educators.
