Call for Papers to Puls Vol. 10<\/p>\n
Puls \u2013 journal for ethnomusicology and ethnochoreology is an online open access journal published by Svenskt visarkiv\/Centre for Swedish Folk Music and Jazz Research, Stockholm, Sweden. The main focus of Pulsis ethnomusicology and ethnochoreology, but the journal also embraces adjacent disciplines, such as other aspects of musicology and choreology, folklore, literature, and related studies of traditional and popular culture. Pulswelcomes analyses of historical and contemporary sources as well as empirical case studies and theoretical discussions. From vol. 9 Puls will be published at Publicera, a portal for Swedish online journals hosted by the National Library of Sweden: Puls – journal for ethnomusicology and ethnochoreology (kb.se)<\/p>\n
Each issue of Puls either focuses on a specific theme or opens up for any topic within the journal\u2019s field. The theme of Puls vol. 10 is \u201cmusic life\u201d. Music life – two small words that make up an efficient compound for the sum of all the complex contexts that make music happen, the totality of resources, prerequisites and conditions that make musicking possible – the tangible, such as arenas, institutions, networks and instruments, and the intangible, such as ideas, values, beliefs and habits. We also welcome articles with topics and approaches outside of this theme, but within the journal\u2019s field.<\/p>\n
Authors are invited to submit articles for issue vol. 10 before 16 August 2024 on<\/strong> https:\/\/publicera.kb.se\/puls\/about\/submissions<\/a><\/p>\n The editorial work is conducted by a general editor and a co-editor (the latter appointed for a two-year period) in co-operation with the editorial board of Puls. An external Advisory Board constituted of cross-disciplinary experts is liaised with the journal. All articles are subject to a double-blind peer review process prior to publication.<\/p>\n Articles in Puls have a range of 10\u201320 pages, which corresponds to a maximum of circa 8 000 words. The accepted languages are Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and English. The editorial board welcomes illustrations, sound and video clips suitable for the journals on-line format.
