Course in climbing for beginners – Friday the 6th of October at 4-5pm

From the 13th of October we will introduce a climbing opportunity in the schedule on Fridays at 3-5pm. Please join us for the introduction this Friday, the 6th of October at 4-5pm, then you can climb more on your own in the future.

On the climbing course for beginners, you get started with climbing under the safe guidance of an instructor, where you learn the basics as well as safe bouldering and climbing with automatic safety systems. Suitable for first-time climbers. Includes climbing shoes and equipment.

Hiking in the world heritage

On Saturday the 30th of September, ÅAU Sports in collaboration with ÅAS (Student Union at Åbo Akademi) organizes an excursion to Svedjehamn where we walk around the Bodvattnet. We will cross Finland’s longest bridge; The Replot Bridge and get to take part in the exhibition at Havets hus about the special nature found in the world heritage. We will leave from ÅAU, Rantakatu 2 at 11am and will be back around 5pm. Sign up for the event HERE

Summertime in ÅAU Sports

Now summer is approaching and almost all guided activities are finished for this semester. Below is information about what is going on this summer, what you should do with your tag if you are going to end your membership in ÅAU Sports, as well as a link to a survey that I hope you will take the time to fill out. A survey where you have the opportunity to give feedback and come up with suggestions for activities for the next academic year. A membership in ÅAU Sports for the next school year will be drawn among those who fill in the survey.

What can I participate in during the summer?

Tuesdays at Wasa Sports Club continue all summer. This coming Sunday (4th of June) is the last Sunday with Body Pump for the semester, BUT from this Sunday (4ht of June) and the rest of the summer you can work out in the gym on Sundays from 16-20.

Edith will also continue with individual tutoring on Tuesdays. So if you feel like you want some tips on how to set up your gym training, contact Edith +358 44 0830050.

WSC wants to offer everyone with ÅAU Sports membership extra training this summer;
1) Summer workout 3 months 150€
2) Extended membership 59 € / month (norm. 79 €) is not tied to a one-year membership but only the months you want.
3) 3 months summerworkout 99e and contiue annual membership 49 € / month

 

For students, the benefits apply at the places we collaborate with, even during the summer.

The swimming halls opening hours during the summer
The swimming hall is closed during the summer weekends between 3.6 and 3.9.
The swimming pool is closed completely between 3.7 and 7.8 due to maintenance work.
5-29.6 and 8.8-3.9 apply to summer opening hours.
The swimming pool is closed on Midsummer’s Eve, June 23. On Thursday, June 22, we close already at 18.
The swimming pool opens again after the summer break on August 8 at 8.

The ÅAU Sports tag

If you end your membership at ÅAU Sports, hand in the tag to to the reception at Wasa Sports Club (weekdays from 10am-8pm) or to the porter at ÅAU (weekdays from 8am-3pm)
